Summer Camps
Summer Camps with Rocky Mountain Outfitters offers children and young adults an opportunity for some horsey fun! Our camps offer all participants an opportunity to learn about horses and to ride, in addition to participating in crafts and our expressive arts programs. No horse experience is necessary, though much will be gained. Camps run for a 1/2 day and parents are welcomed to stay on the farm with their children or in our picnic area. Our camps are divided by age; 6-10, 10-12, and 13+ to accommodate for activity preferences. Summer camps run through the months of June, July, and August each year.
What Camps Include
All of the summer camps offered by Rocky Mountain Outfitters boast:
- each child helps groom and ready their horse for riding
- demonstrations in grooming and tacking up occur
- each child will have an opportunity to ride
- young and nervous riders will be lead by our experienced and well trained staff
- older and fearless riders will ride independently
- participation in horse-related crafts
- expressive arts and horses
- riders paint their horses and participate in a parade
What to Bring
All participants are required to wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. No flip-flops or sandals are allowed.
All children are required to wear helmets when riding.
Bring a water bottle or a drink
Parents are welcomed to bring cameras and take photographs of their child.
Please have sunscreen and bug spray available for your child as we are outside for all activities
